The Study Tour program “Improving Municipal Transparency and Procurement Process” conducted for the delegation of Ukraine Local Government Representatives has ended.

The study tour was funded by USAID/Ukraine Democratic Governance East (DGE) Activity and organized by VNG international in cooperation with NALAG. 28 local officials from more than 10 cities of Ukraine participated in this study tour.

The first meeting was held in the office of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (NALAG). During the meeting Ukrainian guests were briefed on the measures taken to promote local democracy in the country, as well as on Georgia's local self-government system, municipal finances and budget.

Within the framework of the study tour the meetings were held at the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Tbilisi City Assembly, State Procurement Agency. Delegation also visited Telavi and Signagi municipalities. During the meetings guests discussed the decentralization reform, methods and procedures used for civil monitoring of Public procurement at local level, Municipal Finance and Budgets.
